Melissa Victoria’s Personal Fitness Statement and ACE Training Summary
I began concentrating on exercising in 1991 after having two children. I joined a fitness club and started taking classes. I liked feeling healthy and active, and I became interested in learning more about a healthy lifestyle and enrolled in fitness courses.
I started teaching aerobic classes in gyms and health clubs and a few years later I began working one-on-one with clients. I discovered I not only enjoyed working individually with clients, but I am very effective in developing programs that meet clients’ specific needs. I decided to continue my fitness education with a focus on personal training and current health issues
Over the past 20 years, I have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of people and helping them meet their short and long term fitness goals. In 2003, I established Melissa Victoria’s Personal Fitness Training LLC to work with individuals who live in and around Missoula. As the owner and manager of the company, I am committed to the highest level of professionalism and customer service.
As a personal trainer, I am dedicated to helping clients of all ages become active and fit and to teaching them how to safely maintain an exercise plan. Melissa Victoria’s Personal Fitness Training promotes healthy lifestyles and their positive effects on the body, mind, and spirit.
Training Summary
I've been certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since 1993. Every two years the ACE Personal Trainer Certification requires 20 hours of accredited continuing education an updated CPR/AED card to be ACE re-certified. The ACE organization is one of a few select certifying organizations in the fitness industry whose core certifications have all been accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Throughout my fitness career I have taken a variety of continuing education courses such as Advanced Upper and Lower Body Strength Training, Pilates for Fitness, Exercise and Osteoporosis, and Yoga Essentials. The courses I completed in 2011 – 2012 include, Special Population/Post-Rehab Fitness, The Relationship Between Balance Training and Fall Prevention, Older Adults Fitness and Nutrition and Functioning Disability and Health.
